Renee and Mark’s Soldiers and Sailors Wedding

Posted by Aly:

We absolutely LOVE Renee and Mark. Actually, let me back up a bit. I met Renee (along with some other AMAZING friends – who also participated in this weddding) many years ago while waiting tables in the South Side. We hit it off from the beginning, and I feel lucky beyond words to have remained friends with this group for all of these years.

Renee is a beautiful person inside and out (as you’ll soon find out) and being asked to photograph her wedding meant the world to me. It was an unbelievable day! Derrick and I relished every minute of it. Renee and Mark picked some of our favorite venues – St. Mary of the Mount Parish in Mount Washington and Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Oakland.

I also need to mention that Mark might be the only person I’ve met that can match Derrick’s propensity for breaking out into random song and dance at any given moment. He kept Renee (and us) laughing throughout the entire day. It’s easy to see why these two make such a perfect match!

Renee planned every detail perfectly including personalized hangers for each bridesmaid.

The bride’s hair and makeup were styled by Justine of Beauty Justified.

Renee’s bridesmaids watched as she shared a laugh with her mom.

Of course we had to include the bridal party mustache shot!

A signature “Mark” dance series:

Taking pictures in Panther Hollow made for some fun shots as afternoon bikers and runners cut through the action.

Flowers were designed by Mocha Rose Floral and Event Design.

Renee’s close friend, Gillian, sang “At Last” to kick off the dancing for guests. She was dynamite!

DJ Bill Bara from Modern Era Weddings kept the music pumpin’ on the dance floor.

A sparkler send off at the end of the night was the perfect way to end the day.

Renee and Mark, we are so happy for you both! Thanks for letting us be a part of your magical day!! More images in the slideshow:
