It pretty much goes without saying – if you plan to have your wedding in the winter, there’s a good chance that chilly weather is going to go along with it. We’ve seen couples grapple with the cold in all different fashions, but Andrea and Ryan decided to handle their frigid winter wedding day with class, style, and a ton of outdoor picture time (including an epic sled ride by our groom, Ryan). We couldn’t ask for a more fun, adventurous couple!
After spending just a few minutes with Andrea and Ryan, it’s easy to see that they are head-over-heels in love with one another. They needed little prompting to kiss, stare into each other’s eyes, or break out into laughter for absolutely no reason. We even loved catching Ryan just staring at his lovely bride throughout the day – he couldn’t take his eyes off of her (and can you blame him? Andrea was STUNNING!).
We started things off at the Omni William Penn where both Andrea and Ryan got ready. Andrea and her girls had a blast getting their makeup and hair styled by Justine and the team from Beauty Justified. We also got to sneak down for a little hang time with Ryan and the groomsmen in the Tap Room before departing to Oakland.
Andrea and Ryan had their first look on the pathway between Heinz Chapel and the Cathedral of Learning. With the surroundings perfectly covered in freshly fallen snow, it looked magnificent. After spending a couple of moments together, Andrea and Ryan took advantage of Pitt’s campus for some more winter time fun with the entire bridal party. After pictures, we headed for warmth in the Carnegie Museum for both their ceremony and reception, as well as some bonus pictures throughout the exhibits.
Andrea and Ryan had a beautiful ceremony on the museum’s grand marble staircase, and their reception followed in the Hall of Sculpture. The one and only DJ Jeremy Ganss from Jeremy Ganss Productions totally rocked the dance floor as usual, although Andrea, Ryan and their guests didn’t need much encouragement to party!
