Amy & Chris were married on the 4th of July. It was a beautiful Summer day – perfect for an outdoor wedding and a ton of good old-fashioned American (and Pittsburgh) fun.
The day began when we met Amy and her bridesmaids at the Doubletree Hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh, where the wedding would take place later in the day.
Amy and Chris chose to meet each other before the ceremony so that they could take advantage of the afternoon for a fun “tour of Pittsburgh” with their bridal party (as well as some wonderful picture-taking opportunities).
They rented a Molley’s Trolleys trolley car and we all piled on. We loved this shot of Amy and Chris sneaking in a kiss while riding to our first destination on the North Shore.
Among our many stops during the afternoon, Amy and Chris chose Primanti Brothers in the South Side. It was a great place to treat the bridal party to a Pittsburgh lunch (and of course to grab some awesome South Side shots!).
We returned to the Doubletree after lunch to prepare for their late afternoon wedding ceremony, which was held on the rooftop patio of the hotel. We loved how this guest came totally decked out for the 4th!
The ceremony was indescribably beautiful. The setting sun peaked over the tops of the city buildings and we were absolutely in love with the gorgeous backdrop.
After the ceremony, guests made their way into the hotel for the reception – which included many brightly-colored and festive details. Perfect colors for a 4th of July wedding!
At the end of the night, guests gathered outside the Doubletree for Amy and Chris’s sparkler send-off. A perfect end to an absolutely perfect wedding day celebration.
Thanks to Amy and Chris for including us in their wedding day – we had so much fun! We also wanted to thank their wedding planner – Erin of Divine Celebrations. She did a fabulous job and was wonderful to work with! Check out more of their wedding images in the slide show:
