Jessica and Roger’s Wedding

5-21-11

Jessica and Roger are perfect for one another. They are both full of adventure – loving skiing, biking and pretty much any outdoor activity imaginable. And they both have warm, engaging personalities that make you feel like you’re instant friends. We knew from the moment that we met the two of them over a year ago, that their wedding day was going to be unforgettable…we were right.

We began the day at Jess’s parents’ house in Sewickley, where she and her bridesmaids got ready. We loved her bright pink shoes.

Next we headed to St. Mary of the Mount Church on Mt. Washington, where we met Roger and his groomsmen.

Roger beamed when he saw his bride coming down the aisle.

Jess and Roger’s choice of transportation was definitely unique – they chose an old army truck owned and driven by a friend. I hopped on for some shots with the bridal party on the way down to the South Side.

One of my favorites:

Their reception was held at the Circuit Center in the South Side, where their pink details were the perfect complement. Flowers by Flowers in the Attic.

Jessica’s parents’ software company developed an app especially for their wedding day. Guests could download the app at the church or reception and then upload photos that they had taken during the wedding day. The guests’ photos were then displayed on a huge screen at the reception. A genius idea!

Roger has spent a lot of time traveling, and he’s made a lot of friends on his journeys (many were in attendance at the wedding). He stayed with a host family while visiting Germany many years ago, and during his stay, he was fascinated by one of their Christmas decorations – a Nativity Pyramid. His host family, who also flew many miles to be at the wedding, brought with them a special wedding gift for Roger and Jessica: a beautiful, self-made Nativity Pyramid much like the one that Roger admired years ago.

Thanks to Jessica and Roger for an unforgettable day! Congratulations guys!! See more of their wedding images in the slide show:
