We are very excited to be posting John and Mindy’s stunning Succop Conservancy wedding! John and Mindy are dear friends of ours, and being asked to photograph their big day meant the world to us.
But before we get into all of the glorious wedding details, here’s some important background info. John and I met in college before there was a “Studio Bash” and even before there was “Derrick and Aly.” He was a good friend from the beginning, and over the years he became a constant in both of our lives. We’ve been very lucky to share several important milestones with him along with many hilarious moments (some not suitable for the Studio Bash blog). Aly and I have always thought John was one of the greatest guys we’ve had the pleasure of knowing, and we obviously thought he deserved to meet someone of equal greatness. Well, about 3 seconds after meeting Mindy we were sure she was “the one”. John and Mindy compliment each other perfectly in every way, and we were not surprised to hear that these two love birds we’re engaged.
John and Mindy planned their entire wedding day to take place at Succop Conservancy in Butler. Succop’s breathtaking mixture of great architecture and natural elements leaves little to be desired when it comes to an ideal location. Since John and Mindy both got ready on site, we got to spend some quality photo time with both bridal parties before ceremony time. As expected, Mindy and her bridesmaids were absolutely beautiful as we worked with them in the morning light. And, as expected, John and his groomsmen looked suave and provided us with plenty of live entertainment including impromptu dancing, juggling, and a game of William Tell involving some apples and an innocent wedding guest (luckily, no serious injuries were sustained).
Since Mindy is Jewish, and John is Christian, they celebrated with a ceremony that incorporated parts of both faiths. We loved all the little details they chose. The readings and John and Mindy’s vows were truly heartfelt and could not have been more perfectly selected and written (we’re pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye among the guests!). After the ceremony, we took advantage of the gorgeous grounds for pictures before heading into the reception under Succop’s pavilion. With the one-and-only Eric Schiemer behind the DJ table, we knew we were in for a night of non-stop dancing, and John, Mindy, and their guests didn’t let us down!
John and Mindy, thank you for asking us to be part of your big day, and thank you for being such great friends! We love you guys!!
