One of the best parts about shooting weddings is the great people we get to work with. Katie and Lane’s wedding was a wonderful reminder of this. They are an amazing couple with a fun group of friends and family. Fittingly, we got to start their wedding day at Katie’s house surrounded by her bridesmaids and family. As an added bonus, we got to meet the family dog, Jack, who was looking quite dapper in his very own tuxedo. We met Lane and his groomsmen at Calvary United Methodist Church on the North Side for some pre-ceremony pictures. We often hear the line “my groomsmen are crazy” before weddings and never know what to expect. Well, Lane’s groomsmen WERE crazy and we mean that as a total compliment! They kept us laughing from the moment we arrived until we stepped off the dance floor at the end of the night. After a beautiful ceremony, the bridal party headed to nearby West Park for photos before the reception at Southpointe Golf Club. The excellent Kelli Burns was behind the DJ table and kept the dance floor moving throughout the night, while a cigar bar on the patio gave guests a chance to enjoy the beautiful evening outdoors.
