Elise and Craig are two tough cookies. Our first experience shooting with them was this past January on a very, very chilly day for their winter engagement session. Despite the freezing temperatures (and the fact that they were wearing much LESS winter clothing than us), they were troopers and looked amazing.
Luckily, their wedding day was much warmer, and may we say, pretty much perfect! With beautiful weather, a wonderful ceremony at First Trinity Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Oakland, and a rockin’ Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium reception, Elise and Craig’s wedding was one of our favorites of the year. We absolutely loved their details. One of our favorite touches was their bridal party’s peacock-inspired accents. Elise’s bridesmaids each wore a different jewel-toned wrap, while Craig’s groomsmen each sported a different, yet coordinating tie. These subtle variations in color were great choices and the peacock color scheme was a nod to their wedding at the zoo.
After their ceremony, we headed to Highland Park, where the setting sun and autumn colors made for an ideal picture spot only minutes from their reception. The Pittsburgh Zoo’s aquarium is always a great reception site, and Elise and Craig’s family and friends took full advantage. Their dance floor was legendary and their guests’ crazy moves kept us smiling throughout the night. Thank you, Elise and Craig, for letting us be part of your big day!
